Bloom Where
You're Planted

I settled in Charleston to be near family and much-loved grandsons, and once again taught art.  As retirement drew near, I needed to fully explore the creative ideas I'd shared with students for decades.

Luckily, I was offered a Redux studio, and I began to bloom in Charleston's creative community. My very first piece was a large field of zinnias. As I continued to explore the natural surroundings of the Low Country, I found inspiration everywhere. It is with joy, wonder, and humility that I show this blooming work.

This body of work is inspired by the long history of the Charleston area, and the many paths of animals, natives, and immigrants who traversed the peninsula and surrounding areas during the centuries. During their travels they left paths that were altered and paved over time. The waters surrounding them ebbed and flowed over the land too.

As a creative and a transplant to Charleston, I am inspired by the history and nature surrounding me. Like many people who live in the Low Country I am enchanted by the water views.
